It is normal for women with small breasts to get implants through breast augmentation procedure. The opposite of that is breast reduction. Breast reduction is a surgical procedure that helps enhance, contour and resize a woman's breasts.

Women with huge, pendulous breasts do not only feel embarrassed by the size of their breasts, but they also feel discomfort. Back aches, chest and shoulder pains as well as blood circulation issues are the most common complaints.

Recovery after Breast Reduction Surgery

Initial recovery after surgery may take up to a few weeks. But the full recovery from breast reduction may take up to 6-12 months.

It takes months for the woman's body to adapt to the new breasts. She may experience discomfort, swelling, and tenderness particularly during menstrual periods. This is normal since the breasts are adjusting and healing.

Scarring is normal and will fade over time. Scars of other women may not be as pleasant and they can be extensive and permanent.

Cost of Breast Reduction

The cost of breast reduction is approximately US$ 2600. But this amount may vary from one plastic surgeon to another.

Breast reduction is cheaper than breast augmentation which may cost around US$5000.
